The guys singing before Jamey gets up to preach

From: GC lover--meagan (Thu Feb 21 13:01:29 2008)
LOVE the new style!!!

From: gold city fan (Sun Feb 24 22:49:37 2008)
I hope they also keep there music along the country lines for there next album..possibly take on more of the oak ridge boys style of arrangments....

From: Matt (Mon Feb 25 16:49:29 2008)
No they should not. They need to stay southern and not go with the worldly sounds.

From: Gaye (Mon Feb 25 19:44:49 2008)
Good grief, Matt, get a grip!!!

From: gold city fan (Mon Feb 25 20:34:06 2008)
i am guessing that was sarcasim

From: Gaye (Mon Feb 25 21:31:35 2008)
Right you are!!

From: Matt (Tue Feb 26 11:07:41 2008)
I meant what I said. It is getting so you can not tell the world's groups from so-called Southern Gospel. The trend is sad. There used to be a difference, what happened? Win the lost at any cost is not Biblical.

From: Paula (Tue Feb 26 15:05:07 2008)
I pity you Matt. I'm sure those 70 folks that were saved at ONE Preach The Word service will be ETERNALLY grateful to Gold City and Jamie Ragle for their Godly

From: Paula (Tue Feb 26 15:07:24 2008)
example and witness for our Lord and Savior. Of course, there will always be people like you who want to tear down instead of build up. I choose the later. I'm so grateful for Gold City, their ministry and their friendship.

From: Gaye (Tue Feb 26 15:09:42 2008)
Matt, are you saying you would rather see people go to Hell, than to get saved in a way you don't aprove of. Surely not.

From: Tim (Tue Feb 26 23:28:30 2008)
Romans 14:10-13 Paula, I agree with you. Itis not win the lost at any cost...as a highschooler, I am exposed to many types of music, and not by my choice...trust me, GC ad the other Gospel groups are far different than the other genres.

From: Gold City Fan (Fri Feb 29 00:14:55 2008)
How is Country arrangments or Oak Ridge Boys Styled music WORLDLY??? NO ONE said anything about lyrically.......tell me??

From: GCGirl (Tue Mar 4 12:46:16 2008)
Music is Music no matter what style. It is the lyrics that matter! I don't recall in the Bible where there is a certain style or sound of music accepted. I love the casual dress and the the change in sound.

From: Wendy (Wed Mar 5 09:53:57 2008)
Great picture!
Oh...I can't imagine Jonathan not being there anymore :(

From: GClover--meagan (Wed Mar 5 12:04:38 2008)
Matt,
you really need to get a grip. GC's music may be upbeat but that does NOT mean that they've turned country, for goodness sakes! If you want to see a group that

From: GC lover--meagan (Wed Mar 5 12:06:44 2008)
claims to be Southern Gospel but has kinda turned to the world, take a gander at Sig. Sound.
So please stop with all the unkind remarks, will ya?

From: GC lover--meagan (Wed Mar 5 12:08:19 2008)
Your right, Wendy. I can't imagine what GC'll be like without Jon there. Maybe he'll go solo or something.

From: Wendy (Wed Mar 5 16:38:31 2008)
MAYBE so???
I told my husband it almost feels like someone has DIED?? I'm going to miss him SO MUCH. He was the LIFE and ENERGY of the group:(
I know GC will pull thru w/out him, but it's hard for me to let go, and accept someone else? U know?

From: To Matt (Wed Mar 5 23:29:46 2008)
Matts just mad because he'll never walk on on stage with christian men of this caliber. Even if he had a suit on he still wouldnt be as christ-like no matter how much he acted like it. God Loves you Matt, no matter how many problems you try to stir up on here.

From: GC lover--meagan (Thu Mar 6 13:54:41 2008)
So right Wendy. I'm sure Bruce'll do a good job but it just won't be the same without Jon.

From: Paula (Thu Mar 6 19:07:01 2008)
I agree 100% with "To Matt", we need to pray for him. Any one who likes to find fault as he apparently does, must be a really sad person.

From: ~~~~ (Sat May 3 08:59:53 2008)
i don't see why ya'll fight on here so much...it's childish.

From: Sonya (Mon May 5 21:02:51 2008)
I heard the song, "Preach the Word" on the radio the other day. I'm a Christian and this song really stirred my spirit. Thank you for being a blessing with your song.

From: Hadassah (Mon Jul 28 16:53:45 2008)
I was very saddened as I read over the argument that ensued in the comments of this picture.
I understand Matt's concern as well as the majority opinion. Please take time to think about both.

From: Hadassah (Mon Jul 28 17:00:54 2008)
Matt's side: Some groups are changing; GC has, we all agree. Some uphold a high standard of separating the worldly sound from godly. Matt did not say he'd rather souls go to hell than be saved by GC's songs. His statement did not imply that idea.

From: Hadassah (Mon Jul 28 17:01:58 2008)
He was simply stating his concern on the changes he sees and no offense was meant in his gentle statement. He believes that music can accomplish the best and most for God when it is held in godly light and sound.

From: Hadassah (Mon Jul 28 17:03:30 2008)
Also, a concern is when the world looks at/hears Southern Gospel music, and the sounds are changing to sound like their own, will they take time to listen to the hope that may be found in the lyrics? We are looking at the music from a Christian standpoint...but they hear the sounds.

From: Hadassah (Mon Jul 28 17:06:45 2008)
Majority: Most of the comments following Matt's were condemning. Now, I'm not standing on one side or the other. The above posts were only to attempt to explain Matt's side. Your side is well-established already. Now, a question to leave you with? Is it Christlike to condemn?

From: Hadassah (Mon Jul 28 17:08:09 2008)
Even when others opinions do not match ours, we should not condemn or criticize harshly. If their opinion directly contradicts Biblical commands or principles, we should stand for what we know to be true in God's Word.

From: Hadassah (Mon Jul 28 17:09:41 2008)
Please quit arguing and try to be more longsuffering. My intent was not to preach here, but rather, perhaps, mend some hard feelings. Always pray with an open heart and you will see God's way. Have a blessed day.

From: Gaye (Mon Jul 28 19:22:51 2008)
I don't believe that anybody has been arguing for several months now, until you stirred things up again. I do bellieve that Matt was being very critical. If you want to criticize than please go to another website!! Thanks
